"You Know I've Got This Friend..." Industry Networking Event
Social isn't just on the web, it's how we interact with each other, we just have a lot more tools to do so. Beyond Producing and Business Development, I also pride myself on my abilities not only as a sociable person and abilities to network, but thrive in my ability to create networking opportunities for others. Years back I was helping friends connect, so and so needs a makeup artist?Connected! Do you know someone at Saatchi? Connected! Even helping out rival companies with the goal to strengthen the industry over all. I became the go to guy for so many that I found it beginning to take up a substantial amount of my time. My solution, get everyone into a room at once! If they can't talk to each other and network, they are probably in the wrong industry. And "You Know, I've Got This Friend..." was started. Just a few core people at the first event, it quickly grew to more than 200 industry professionals.
I was able to tailor other events to certain aspects of the industry. A social Hour that I hosted was for a very elite few, bringing only 40 agency execs, directors and above the line people together. I am the guy that is bouncing around the room making sure that people are connecting but also enjoying themselves.
I am a member of a number of groups including AICP and ThinkLA. I enjoy attending conferences from AdAge's Digital Conference, San Francisco, to Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce World Trade Week, to Meet the Nominees event for the 66th Annual DGA Awards.
There has been a dicodomy over the last number of years. I have been building up two brands, The Cavalry Productions and Ros Grogan. Yes, I consider myself a brand name and I believe everyone should do the same. Who I work with and connect with matters.
As an enteprenue it is important to It is important not only to create events b AICP, ThinkLA, Chamber of Commerce, Etc
